Let's get personal
My name is Erin, and I'm an adult amateur dressage rider that you guessed it - loves talking about dressage. I've been riding since elementary school, and was inspired to start dressage when I went over one too many jumps without my Thoroughbred. At the time, I had no idea what dressage was, but was told a little dressage training could benefit us. It didn't take me long to get sucked
into the sport and before long posters of dressage horses replaced those of jumpers in my bedroom.
Starting at 18, I took ten years off of riding to attend college and then subsequently afford horses again. When I was ready to dip my toe back in the equestrian pond I searched for a dressage trainer but couldn't find anyone off the bat who was willing to let me knock off ten years of rust on their horse. Eventually, I found a very generous eventing trainer who gave me a few lessons to get back into the swing of things. However, about a month in a fall over a minuscule cross rail and the resulting concussion reaffirmed my interest in dressage.
Currently, I'm back where I belong - in a dressage saddle. I lease a Grand Prix schoolmaster who knows too much for his own good, but often masquerades as knowing very little and he makes me a better rider for it.
This is my dressage blog.
